Bridging the gap between students and startups
We believe in match-making. Startups are driven by innovation. Our student partners can help them, offering fresh ideas while working with companies on real-world projects through limited but meaningful engagements called micro-internships. We see it as a win for students, entrepreneurs and the innovation economy.

They are a great way for a student to build work experience, and for companies to build a pipeline of student talent. They are short-term, professional assignments that are similar to those you might have for a traditional internship or entry-level role. Examples include research, market analysis, data analytics, and design work. Unlike a traditional internship, projects can be available throughout the year.
A project is typically 10 to 40 hours, and can cover several weeks or a few months.
Check out the Job Board page to see what projects as well as internships or other opportunities are available. You can also sign up for our email list to receive projects and related announcements.
For micro-internship projects, we recommend you use Parker Dewey. Parker Dewey is a great platform that manages all of the paperwork and logistics of hiring a student as a contractor. In fact, you pay Parker Dewey an invoice as you would any other vendor. They handle payment processing for the student.
After posting on Parker Dewey, you can share the project link on our job board and we'll distribute the announcement to our student list. You can also share other opportunities like areas of need but undefined projects, internships, or full-time and part-time jobs.
Students work with the project owner at the respective company. It's important that the student has a clear supervisor to check in on their progress, seek feedback and guidance, and to present the final deliverable.
If you are completing a micro-internship project managed through the Parker Dewey platform, payment will come from Parker Dewey when the project is complete. Setting up a direct deposit is part of the onboarding process.
For other jobs, payment is managed through the company that is hiring you.
Payment is handled by Parker Dewey, which handles administration and hiring logistics. Students receive instructions for setting up a direct deposit when creating an account. Companies pay Parker Dewey like any other vendor. Parker Dewey takes a 10% fee from the total project fee, and handles all contracting paperwork, payments, and tax reporting.
If you are hiring a student directly, such as for a traditional internship or a job, then payment is handled based on your own operations. We do not facilitate any payments between companies and students.
Project owners should give feedback directly to their micro-intern, and students should not hesitate to ask directly. CincyTech Students will also send you a brief feedback survey that we use to improve the program.
Students are independent contractors and not employees of CincyTech, any of the startup companies, or Parker Dewey. You can categorize your projects under a broad "CincyTech Students Micro-Internships" with a list of the companies and the projects completed.
